About the last day of MaMA To close the Music and Convention 2024 concerts, we almost flipped a coin to choose different bands or artists, and finally, one of them was the one for RORI’s concert at La Cigale.
Our first Rori concert at MaMA, which we were just discovering. (Oops…) Sorry to Rori and her fans.
Would chance be another good guide on this last day after the great Astral Bakers concert?
According to a few articles we read about Rori, it had nevertheless prompted us to include her in our program.
Because everything we had read in the press was rather complimentary, so we were once again hoping for a great concert.
The hall at La Cigale quickly filled with an audience that seemed to already know it much better than we did.
This audience seemed eagerly awaiting the opening of hostilities, namely the concert… just as we were.
Our first impression after two or three songs.
Rory has charm and charisma coupled with energy, but which could undoubtedly conceal a great deal of sensitivity.
She offers us songs built on catchy melodies, with a beautiful voice and lyrics that seem quite personal, but equally well written.
The audience seems to agree with us because Rory enjoys great support from them, enthusiastic, let’s not mince words.
It seems that the majority of the audience, clearly, unlike us, knows her repertoire.
The songs flow one after the other, with Rory’s lovely stage presence and a good connection with her fans. Her style, or her initial style, is dynamic and rhythmic pop, sometimes even pop-soul.

Her concert ended with thunderous applause from her audience, which, as we mentioned, was largely composed of fans!
We ourselves were captivated by this wonderful discovery.

Rori (Camille Gemoets, by birth) is the new Belgian pop star, as we can read everywhere.
In 2023, with « Doctor, » her song was streamed over 3 million times.
Born in 1998, this slender young brunette is often compared to her compatriot Angèle, but also to Olivia Rodrigo, the young American singer.

She has her own unique artistic universe, a captivating universe that speaks directly to the new generation, who seem to easily identify with her through the topics she explores in her songs.
Through her music, she reveals herself, addressing themes such as mental health, depression, and anxiety, expressing lyrics that deeply touch the emotions.
Rori invite us on a journey that blends several musical colors, highlighting her eclecticism and love of pop culture.

Finally, Rori’s concert at La Cigale was a lucky break, and she will be a wonderful discovery at this MaMA 2020, which we recommend without hesitation if, like us, you haven’t heard of her yet.
Rori is a talented young singer on the new music scene, and with her current momentum, she seems destined for a bright future.
That’s absolutely all we wish for her.
