The Pure Energy of Ariane Roy in 2025
Quebec’s Rising Rock Force
For the past three years, Ariane Roy has emerged as one of the most exciting new voices in Quebec’s music scene and beyond.
This singer-songwriter, whose sound dances between pop and rock, captivates audiences with her raw energy, refreshing approach, and lyrics that feel honest, intimate, and real. Always The Pure Energy of Ariane Roy in 2025?
Her debut album, Medium Plaisir, released in 2022, quickly won over a growing audience across Quebec, France, and Europe thanks to its catchy melodies and emotionally charged songwriting.
A Live Performer Who Owns the Stage
On stage, Ariane Roy isn’t just a performer she’s a force of nature.
She proved it brilliantly at Les Trois Baudets in Paris during MaMA Music & Convention 2023, where her set was a perfect storm of electric guitar riffs, pulsing rhythms, and unstoppable stage presence.
The atmosphere?
Intimate, yet explosive. The kind of show where you’re pulled in from the first note. She didn’t just sing she commanded the room.
And in that small Parisian venue, one thing became clear: Ariane Roy isn’t just a sweet voice. She’s a full-on rocker at heart.
Musical Influences: Indie, Pop, and Raw Emotion
Musically, Ariane draws from contemporary rock and pop, with vibes that echo Phoebe Bridgers, Alvvays, and that dreamy, guitar-driven indie sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
Her songs are melodic, powerful, and bold blending raw, gritty textures with instantly catchy pop hooks.
From Quebec to the World
Its roots are firmly anchored in Quebec, Ariane’s influence is not yet international, but that could happen very quickly.
Her performance at MaMA 2023 was a turning point, a moment that introduced her to French audiences and opened doors across Europe.
And let’s be honest: festivals like MaMA don’t just spotlight talent. They reveal who can truly connect and Ariane did, with ease.
A Career in Full Momentum
Today, Ariane Roy’s career is on fire and we’re all waiting eagerly for her next album.
With Medium Plaisir as her breakout success and new projects in the works, she continues to prove that authenticity and energy are at the heart of everything she creates. She’s not just an artist to follow. She’s an artist to experience live.
A Personal Note
Having seen her live at Les Trois Baudets, I can say this with total honesty: I was genuinely blown away. For me, it was a discovery. But within minutes, I like the entire audience was under her spell. Not just by her music… But by that pure, uncontainable energy she brings to the stage.
And yes, she’s undeniably sexy on stage… but never vulgar. There’s a confidence, a magnetism, that comes from pure authenticity.
And in 2025, with the release of her second opus?
A Bold Reinvention: Dogue, Risks, and Questions
In March 2025, Ariane released her second album, Dogue three years after Medium Plaisir. And honestly? It flew under the radar in France.
I only discovered it last July, digging through her YouTube channel.
Maybe she’s still focusing on solidifying her fame in Quebec before going full international though that seems to contradict what she said during her MaMA 2023 appearance in Paris… After all, for 2025, she’s only scheduled two concerts in Europe.
With Dogue, Ariane steps away from the electric guitars and raw rock energy of her debut, diving instead into darker, electronic textures bold, punchy, and frankly, quite unexpected.
As she put it:
“I sometimes get bored with what I create. I respect what I’ve done, but I quickly want to move on. I asked myself: how can I break from the first album?”
And trust me the break is immediate. From the very first notes of the title track Dogue, you can feel it: This is not Medium Plaisir. This is something else.
Is it a risk?
I’ll be honest: I haven’t fully connected with Dogue yet. It’s not bad but the gap between the two records is huge. And with only a handful of likes on YouTube for the singles, it’s clear the audience is still catching up.
For a rising artist, to make such a radical shift so early right after a debut that made her shine feels… risky. I’ve seen so many talented artists burn out quickly by taking this kind of leap too soon.
Since I started following emerging acts at MaMA in 2018, two out of three of the artists I once believed in have already faded away. And that’s not what I want for Ariane. She’s too talented for that.
A Career in Full Momentum and Full Reinvention
Today, Ariane Roy’s career is on fire and in motion.
She’s already on a year-long tour across Quebec, with just two European dates to present Dogue live a show she promises will be colorful, intense, and full of energy.
(On that last point, we have zero doubts.) And while the album marks a sharp break from her past, one thing remains certain: She’s at her best on stage.
The Live Factor: Where She Truly Shines. Still, I keep reminding myself:
Ariane Roy is first and foremost a live artist. That’s where her energy explodes, where her voice commands the room, where the music becomes something bigger than the recording.
So, I’m reserving my final judgment for December 3, 2025, the date of her only concert in France, at La Maroquinerie in Paris.
(A small concert hall in the 20th arrondissement of Paris with only 500 seats?… I have doubts about this choice!)
Because if there’s one thing I don’t doubt for a second?… She’s going to kill it on stage.
And while Dogue might be a bold, even jarring evolution… I’ll be there, front row, ready to be blown away again.
Final Word
If you haven’t discovered Ariane Roy yet, do it now.
She’s the kind of artist on stage who reminds you why you fell in love with music in the first place.
