Live in Paris,
Astral Bakers
A Dreamy Escape Through Timeless Sound
If you were lucky enough to catch The Astral Bakers, live at La Cigale, during the MaMA Music & Convention in Paris, then you already know: this is not just another indie band.
This is a group of four incredibly talented musicians who’ve spent years behind the scenes, helping shape the sound of some of France’s most beloved artists
And now they’re stepping into the spotlight with a sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new.
Who Are "The" Astral Bakers?
The band brings together four seasoned musicians:
✅ Ambroise Willaume (aka Sage) – known for his solo project Sage and earlier for co-founding the acclaimed band Revolver, which gained cult status between
2008 and 2013.
✅ Théodora Delilez
✅ Nicolas Lockhart
✅ Zoé Hochberg
Each of them has played with big names like Pomme, Clara Luciani, Lomepal, Woodkid, Fishbach, The Shoes, Alex Beaupain, Eddy de Pretto , and more.
So yeah, these are no rookies — they’re the secret sauce behind some of the best music in recent French pop history.
In late 2021, they reunited for their first-ever gig at Le Consulat in Paris.
From that moment on, Astral Bakers was born.
What Makes Them Special?
What sets Astral Bakers apart isn’t just their experience or pedigree — it’s the magic that happens when they play together.
On stage, there’s no ego, no show-offs. Just four friends creating something bigger than themselves.
Their music? Think dreamy pop-rock, soft-edged and full of emotion. It’s like a warm breeze of melancholy, wrapped in lush harmonies and subtle electric riffs.
Sometimes it leans into a gentle chorus effect rather than distortion… but when they do crank up the volume, it’s always intentional, never overpowering.
You might even hear echoes of the ’80s and ’90s, not in a retro way, but more like distant memories floating through your headphones.
Some tracks feel like they could drift off into space at any moment — a kind of « flying music », if that makes sense.
A Night to Remember at La Cigale
Watching them perform at La Cigale was like stepping into someone else’s daydream. There was a real sense of unity on stage… each member perfectly in sync,
yet never trying to steal the spotlight.
Their vocals are soft, melodic, and soothing … adding to the overall feeling of calm and introspection.
I couldn’t help but think of Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s Reveries of the Solitary Walker while listening.
Not because I’m dramatic, but because their music truly felt like a shared journey one built on fragile beauty, harmony, and a deep connection between all four of them.
Why You Should Listen.
If you haven’t discovered Astral Bakers yet, you’re missing out.
Their music offers a rare kind of escape, a moment to breathe, reflect, and get lost in sound.
Whether you’re looking for a chill soundtrack to your day or a deep dive into emotional melodies, they deliver.
Go check out their live shows or stream their tracks.
Don’t take my word for it, form your own impression, and start walking your dream path.
